Hampstead, London 1992.

On the cover of Javanan.  The magazine interviewed me prior to my concerts in the U.S.

I am showing the magazine to my parents who came to London for two months.  I had not seen them in 12 years!  It has been very hard for them to be away from me all these years.

The cover photo was later used for the re-release of my Album:  “Hafez, a memorandum”, which I had recorded for CBS in Tehran a few years before my second trip to England.  My first absence from Iran was between 1967 and 1975.  I worked as a journalist for an English daily, Tehran Journal, until I was spotted by newly arrived CBS Director in Iran. In all I recorded two personal albums:  “The Occupations of Heart” (Del-Mashghooliha), and “Hafez….” For CBS.  I also ran their A&R Department, having resigned from my job as a journalist.

In 1992, Pars Video and Records, released the two albums on CD and Cassette.  Unlike many “pirated” versions, Pars used the master recordings which they bought from me in 1992.  With the advent of the Revolution in Iran, CBS closed its’ operations and a good opportunity for recording artists was lost.  I took my family back to England.  By now, I had two daughters, my youngest, Roxanne, had been born in L.A. while we were there.
